Writing

This is the excerpt for your very first post.

Every young person has an imagination!

We will explore a little it of writing this summer, not the mechanics, but the sheer wonder of storytelling, poetry, and prose.

Each participant will receive a journal that they are encouraged to used to make notes while they read the books, especially if they are required to write a paper for their fall English classes.

Real pens and real writing help make real stories. Each participant is encouraged to write in longhand to enhance their handwriting skills, to connect with the words on paper, and to become better writers.

Not a writing workshop, but an opportunity for those with the creative bug to share their work in a safe and supportive communty of like-minded teens, the Hurston & Hughes Literary Circle believes in the power of the pen!
